As a See's Candies customer we know you enjoy only the finest ingredients in chocolate.
However, some U.S. manufacturers are trying to lower our industry's "Chocolate Identity Standards" so they may produce cheaper, lower-quality products and still label them as "chocolate"; and they have submitted a petition to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval. |

We would like to assure our customers, See's will never switch to a lower quality chocolate or other ingredient that does not provide our customers with the exceptional taste you have come to expect. While we hope this change is not approved by the FDA, in the event other "chocolate" products may become available, we will continue to use the true chocolate you have come to enjoy over the years. We invite you to join us in saying "No" to this FDA petition.
As our President and CEO, Brad Kinstler, said in a statement last week, "Chocolate as we know it today is a natural product... Allowing the introduction of vegetable oils and milk substitutes to enable distribution of a cheaper product is not in the public's best interest."
No matter what the outcome, you will continue to receive "Quality Without Compromise®" from See's Candies.

Allow manufacturers to substitute vegetable oil and trans fat for the natural cocoa butter product currently required in chocolate. |

Enable the use of milk substitutes in place of real milk. |

Alter the taste of "chocolate" products. |
|
|

Not require labels to clearly disclose the "chocolate" is not made with cocoa butter. As a result, consumers will be less likely to distinguish if the manufacturing of the product is different than the "chocolate" they have previously purchased. |

The Food and Drug Administration provides consumers with a process so that everyone can express their opinions whenever a ruling is under consideration. It only takes a few minutes to fill in your information and log your comments. Don't let the manufacturers pushing for changes be the only voice.
